On December 22nd, Williams and Sauber revealed their launch date for the presentation of their 2024 cars.
The first outfit to reveal the launch date was Ferrari, which will unveil its 2024 challenger on February 13th. Now, the list counts three teams already, but they did not share many details about their car’s unveiling.
However, what is known is that Sauber will hold the presentation in London, UK, for the first time in its history. Moreover, it will be the first chance for all the fans to have a look at the new team’s identity after switching to the name Sauber, previously Alfa Romeo. The team has also stated that the presentation will deliver “the ‘wow’ factor to our sport”.
To add to that, Sauber wants to improve the negative results of the 2023 campaign, during which the team only scored 16 points and finished second to last in the constructor standings.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, the team’s Managing Director, added: “Next year’s car will not be an evolution of this year’s car, because we think that there are some limits in this concept that we cannot exploit further. So, we will really have a completely new car from chassis to suspension, everything, all the areas.”
Speaking of Williams, it is still unkown where the presentation will take place. However, the team stopped developing its 2023 car in June to shift its focus to the 2024 challenger. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how it can continue its strong growth.
Team Principal James Vowles expressed his feelings ahead of the new season: “Next year is really the sort of putting together of minds as to how we completely shift direction. And I’m actually really looking forward to how that turns out in four or five months’ time.”
