The Orlando Magic have confirmed that on February 13th Shaquille O’Neal’s jersey No. 32 will be officially retired to honor the Hall of Famer.

This is not the first time that a jersey used by Shaq has been retired by a franchise. His No. 34 was retired by the LA Lakers back in 2013, and the Miami Heat also retired his No. 32 jersey in 2016.

2024 is going to be an important year for the Magic as they celebrate their 35th anniversary as a franchise, and O’Neal’s jersey will be the first Magic’s retired one.

Shaq helped the Orlando Magic to reach the NBA Finals for the first time in the 1994-95 season. “It was a great four years there. I just wanted to come in and make a name for myself,” said Shaq on TNT.

Now, with the Magic retiring Shaq’s jersey, the only two teams without any retired jerseys will be the Clippers and the Raptors.
