After a subluxation of his right shoulder during training, Ja Morant is forced to undergo season-ending surgery.
This season had already started late for the Memphis Grizzlies guard, as he had to serve a 25-game suspension penalty. After his comeback, it was clear that his presence on the court made a difference for the team.
However, Memphis now has to continue the year without their star player, who will probably come back fully recovered just before the 2024-25 season.
“Following ongoing soreness and instability, Morant underwent an MRI that revealed an underlying labral tear,” the Grizzlies announced on Monday.
If a playoff or even Play-In run seemed extremely difficult with Morant, now that he cannot play for the remainder of the season, clinching that goal appears even tougher.
