Luka Dončić scored 73 points to set his career-high record and gift the Dallas Mavericks a win against the Atlanta Hawks (148-143).
During a sad day in which the whole world mourns the death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Doncic kind of honored one of the most famous NBA legends to ever exist by putting on an absolute show.
In the first half alone, Doncic scored 41 points. His tally reached 57 at the end of the third quarter, and he concluded the game with a total of 73. The Slovenian is now the 4th player with the most points in a single game, tied with Wilt Chamberlain and David Thompson.
Doncic would rank his performance as one of the best in his entire career, but he also admitted that his main focus was to get the win.
“We’ve been struggling lately. [The] mindset was [to] get a win. We played great.”
