Visa Cash App RB has announced Tim Goss as the new CTO, Alan Permane as racing director, and Guillaume Cattelani as deputy technical director.
The team, formerly known as AlphaTauri, has selected these figures intending to improve the whole outfit and get closer to the top of the field. Not only that, RB will also have a new team principal: Laurent Mekies.
Part of the plan to improve the car’s performance and have a better team is also a closer partnership with Red Bull, something that has raised some doubts and concerns in the paddock.
Goss will only take his role as chief technical officer in October. He previously worked for McLaren (1990-2018) and the FIA.
“I am delighted to join Visa Cash App RB at the start of its new era of competition,” said Goss.
“It’s a team with great pride and heritage, with some exceptional people already in place, and I’m looking forward to working with team principal Laurent Mekies and alongside technical director Jody Egginton.
“There’s an exciting challenge ahead of us but I think the team is well-equipped to meet that head-on.”
Permane also spent some words regarding his future experience with RB after having left Alpine in July.
“After a few months of downtime, it’s great to return to racing again with the Visa Cash App RB team,” Permane added.
“From long experience, I know how professional, driven, and competitive the people within this race team are and I can’t wait to see where that spirit can take the team in the future.”
