Carlos Sainz has confirmed his departure from Scuderia Ferrari at the end of the 2024 Formula One season.
The news come after the team announced Lewis Hamilton’s signing from 2025 onward, in a “multi-year” contract.
“Following today’s news, Scuderia Ferrari and myself will part ways at the end of 2024,” Sainz said on social media.
“We still have a long season ahead of us and, like always, I will give my absolute best or the team and for the Tifosi all around the world.
“News about my future will be announced in due course.”
Carlos Sainz Senior had hinted at talks between his son and Audi for a possible seat for when the team joins the grid in 2026, taking over Sauber. However, it remains to be seen where the Spaniard will move for the 2025 season, or if he will take a sabbatical year.
