Alpine just presented its brand-new A524, which will have the difficult task of taking another step forward in performance, just like McLaren and Aston Martin did last year.
Before the presentation of the Formula 1 car, Alpine also revealed the WEC hypercar which is a significant project for the French team, especially ahead of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It’s going to be a crucial year for Alpine in Formula 1 as for many years now the French outfit, previously Renault, has set the objective to challenge the top teams for wins and podiums. A goal that hasn’t been reached yet, but that Alpine is keen to achieve as soon as possible.
Bruno Famin, Alpine team principal, said that after the 2023 season, the squad focused on what was lacking and its weaknesses to improve in many aspects and details ahead of the upcoming season.
He also added that the way the team approached the 2024 car’s design is “bold” and the A524 will be very different from what we saw last year.
The livery featured the usual blue and pink colors, with a lot of carbon black, probably to reduce the weight of the car. Not only that, but Alpine also revealed a pink livery that will be used on “a couple of occasions”, as Famin said.
