Right after the W15 presentation, Lewis Hamilton said that he is ready to face every challenge that will present on his path during his last year with the team.
At the start of the month, it was announced that the seven-time world champion is going to join Ferrari in 2025, meaning that this will be his last season with Mercedes.
Despite the difficulties in the past two years, Hamilton said that he is ready, and what the team has learned so far helped to find the right direction for the future.
“The learnings of the past two years have helped us find our direction,” Lewis said. “It’s enabled us to find our north star. It’s still going to be a work in progress, but we will face whatever challenges present themselves with our heads up, with open minds, and work through diligently.”
To add to that, Hamilton said that he is proud of all the work the entire team has been doing. He is also motivated and hopes that the updates featured on the W15 will make the car more comfortable to drive.
“If you’re not comfortable with the car, you’re not able to extract the maximum performance. A more stable, more predictable car will enable us to extract the potential from not only the car but ourselves as drivers.
“I know what this team is capable of. I am incredibly grateful for the work of every single person in this team. Every time you’re in the factory, you can see the sheer drive and determination of everyone. We are all mega-motivated for the year ahead and will be giving it everything we’ve got on the journey ahead.”
