McLaren have unveiled their Formula 1 challenger for the 2024 season – the MCL38.
The team had already shown its livery and race suits weeks earlier, but the launch saw them present the actual new car for the new year.
McLaren had an impressive season in 2023. A poor start caught them off guard, and the team really struggled. However, they managed to turn things around after the season break and climbed to be the best team of the midfield, just behind the top 3 of Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes.
When asked at the livery reveal, team CEO Zak Brown said they had made “incremental gains” and that they had “everything we need, but it’s a very competitive sport.”
In terms of competitiveness, Brown added that “Mercedes and Ferrari are unbelievable teams and Red Bull will probably be the favorites. But I think the pace of development we had with our car last year… I think it’s kind of hard to say definitively who’s going to be on top, because the grid is very tight.”
