Helmut Marko expressed his opinion regarding the ongoing investigation concerning Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, saying that the team “reacted very well”.
Horner is now under investigation after a female employee accused him of inappropriate behavior. The Brit denied the accusations, and he was present during Red Bull’s car presentation. Moreover, he also hinted that he would be still covering his role in Bahrain, something which seems to be true with just less than 24 hours before the start of pre-season testing.
Red Bull said that this matter would require time to get solved, but both F1 and the FIA hope that the team can conclude as soon as possible — before the start of the season would be ideal.
On the other hand, Marko believes that Red Bull reacted very well to what happened and thinks it has all the right not to rush anything and evaluate all the details and evidence before coming to a conclusion.
“As you know, this is an internal investigation,” he said to Red Bull’s Servus TV channel.
“The sooner a result is available, the better because of course, rumors and other stories are bound to sprout due to the long duration.
“[But] I think Red Bull has reacted very well in this matter. The long duration of this investigation is not their fault. They are endeavoring to [have] a fair investigation and then react accordingly.”
Red Bull didn’t release any further statements ahead of the start of pre-season testing regarding the matter.
