Alex Albon (THA) Williams Racing FW46. Williams Racing Collateral Film Day, Tuesday 20th February 2024, Sakhir, Bahrain.

Alexander Albon admitted that, so far, the Williams FW45 feels good to drive, but the new concept revealed other issues that the team needs to address.

Albon said that Williams focused on solving last year’s issues ahead of the 2024 season. Even though he said the “feeling is good,” he also didn’t hide that, after the first few outings with the FW45, new issues surfaced.

“We haven’t done so many laps but, generally, the feeling is good.

“We had a big task last year trying to focus on this year’s car, trying to get rid of some of the issues that we’ve been having consistently throughout last year.

“We seem to have a couple of corners at this track that really highlight the problems.

“It’s nice to know that we have fixed a lot of the problem areas from last year. But there are some new things that we have to iron out. So, part of the learning curve. But it’s going well so far.”

He concluded by saying that Williams should not expect much from the first Grand Prix, but hopefully, it will improve after the first few races.

“I don’t think we’re going to hit the ground running, but we can hit the ground jogging and have a good few races hopefully and get onto the points areas relatively soon.”
