Christian Horner will stay as Red Bull’s team principal following an investigation for sexual misconduct.

An investigation had been started against Horner in early January due to allegations of “inappropriate conduct,” which were later revealed to be of “sexual misconduct.”

Horner had denied those allegations initially, but then refused to comment on the matter further when asked during the pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit.

During the team launch, the team boss had said that it was “business as usual” during the investigation and that it hadn’t affected the team dynamic and its development for the 2024 Formula 1 season.

Earlier on Wednesday, The Times UK had released a report that the independent investigator had cleared Horner of any wrongdoing.

Then, a Red Bull statement released at around 4:40 PM CET confirmed the news, and announced that the team principal will keep his role.

“The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal,” the statement said.

However, the company added that “the investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned.

“Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards.”

This is a developing story.
