Bob Bell joins Aston Martin as Executive Director (Technical) after leaving Alpine.

It was announced just this morning that Bell was set to leave the French outfit, and only a few hours later Aston Martin confirmed his hiring. Bell will directly report to the team principal Mike Krack.

Bell stayed with Alpine for many years, and he even covered the role of team principal in 2009.

This move by the British outfit is made with one clear goal in mind: to challenge the top teams for wins and podiums. Bell expressed his feeling ahead of his move, saying that he has “been impressed by the progress Aston Martin made”. Therefore, he is looking forward to this opportunity.

“I have been impressed by the progress Aston Martin has made in recent years.

“The opportunity to play my part in that journey is incredibly exciting, and I look forward to working with the great technical leaders at Silverstone.

“The scale and ambition of this project is highly motivating. I am a racer, and I see the hunger and determination powering this team. I look forward to playing my part with Mike and the rest of the team.”

Krack also spent a few words about Bell, saying that he will surely be a “key” figure to optimize the team’s performance.

“I am delighted to welcome Bob Bell to Aston Martin. This is a key appointment to ensure we are optimizing everything we do as a team and focusing on the right performance areas.

“Bob’s track record in the sport speaks for itself and his experience will help us continue to make steps forward on the exciting journey we are on.”
