Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz was unable to participate in the media day for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after feeling unwell.

The Spanish driver made his way to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit but then returned to his hotel due to an illness.

“Carlos Sainz has returned to the hotel to rest and be ready for tomorrow after feeling a bit unwell,” Scuderia Ferrari stated on their social media accounts.

Sainz will leave the team at the end of the season, and will be replaced by current Mercedes driver and 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton.
