Max Verstappen admitted that, despite the ongoing rumors regarding his stay at Red Bull, he intends to continue driving for the Milton Keynes-based outfit.

A few days ago, Verstappen’s father, Jos, accused Christian Horner of being the cause of tensions and issues inside the team. This led to rumors suggesting that the three-time world champion could leave Red Bull and join Mercedes.

Despite all the chaos, Verstappen confirmed that his intention is “to stay with the team” as he “really enjoys” it, hinting that the ongoing issues aren’t really affecting him that much.

“Yeah, the intention is, of course, absolutely, to stay with this team, because I really enjoy it.

“And I’m also really happy within the team. So as long as we perform there is no reason also to leave.”

The Dutchman continued by saying that he doesn’t think about a possible team switch as Red Bull is performing incredibly well. However, some things can come unexpectedly in life, like Lewis Hamilton signing for Ferrari. Therefore, Verstappen said that you cannot be always 100% sure about what’s going to happen.

“I think no one would have ever realized or seen that Lewis would move to Ferrari.

“In life in general, you never know what happens or what comes to you, or whatever happens around you, or what might influence you.

“So you can never say 100%, that’s how it’s going to be. I approach my life like that.

“But I also don’t think about it too much. I’m very relaxed. Like I said, I’m very happy with the team. The performance is there. There’s no reason to leave.”
