Yuki Tsunoda was the protagonist at the end of the Bahrain GP when he almost hit his teammate Daniel Ricciardo twice after the Australian didn’t give him the position back during the race.

RB F1 Team asked Tsunoda to let Ricciardo pass as the squad thought the Aussie could be faster and overtake a few cars ahead. That didn’t happen, and Tsunoda expected Ricciardo to give the position back, but the Australian didn’t.

Due to that, the Japanese driver appeared rather nervous right after the finish line, and to show his frustration he almost hit his teammate’s car.

A few days after the accident happened, Tsunoda acknowledged that he needs to improve and maintain his self-control, especially if he wants to join a team like Red Bull.

“It’s a thing I have to improve, for sure,” Tsunoda said.

“If I do those things again, there will be more issues.

“These are things I have to improve, I’m working on it. It needs more than two steps, not just one step of something. I have confidence I can prove that [then] it’s up to them [Red Bull] if they want me or not.

“But I’m mainly focused on self-control. Other than that, I have pretty good confidence that I’m achieving most of it, and I’ll keep improving.”

The Japanese driver added that, of course, the team discussed what happened after the race, and everything was clarified. Therefore, everybody is still united and ready for the next race.

“We talked about it after the race, the whole team,” added Tsunoda.

“We’re still unified, we’re on the same page now.

“We understand each other. That’s it, really. I understand what they were saying. It wasn’t an easy race in the end.”
