Carlos Sainz misses the remainder of the Saudi Arabian weekend as he is suffering from appendicitis.
The Spaniard was already feeling unwell on Wednesday when he didn’t show up to the media day. However, despite being still sick, he drove both FP1 and FP2 on Thursday.
He admitted that it was a “tricky” day, but he was also happy to have been able to complete the program that the team had set.
Then, on Friday morning, Ferrari confirmed on social media that Sainz “has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will require surgery”. Therefore, Ollie Bearman will be in the car alongside Charles Leclerc for FP3 and the rest of the weekend.
Ferrari concluded the message by wishing Sainz a “speedy recovery”.
