Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff says that transparency should be the utmost priority for the sport amid the latest cases and investigations.
FIA president Ben Sulayem is now investigated as a whistleblower reported that the former tried to interfere with the result of the 2023 Saudi Arabian GP. Not only that, another rumor came out suggesting that Sulayem wanted to force the officials of the Las Vegas GP not to certify the new venue.
This chaos caused Wolff to say that there is a ” lack of transparency” in a world that expects to have it.
“I think what’s happening at the moment in the sport, in these various situations, we don’t know exactly what happened.
“But the negative criticism that we get is for the lack of transparency. I think this is what we need to understand.
“We’re living in a world that expects transparency and understanding. In some cases, that would just solve the situation if rumors prove to be not true.
“We as a sport should strive to do this. We’ll see what the outcome will be.”
