The Sauber F1 Team will have to ditch the “Stake F1 Team” branding for the Australian Grand Prix due to local regulations.
Stake is a gambling company, and some regions prohibit or limit the sponsorship deal such companies can make with sport teams, as is the case in Australia.
Because of that, Sauber will have to run with the “KICK Sauber” name for the upcoming race weekend in Melbourne.
“We will be fully compliant with all the local applicable laws and where Stake is permitted. So where gambling advertising is prohibited, we will use a different name,” team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi said.
“As last year, we have Kick as one of our most important partners – the car launch was streamed live on Kick.com, our chassis name is Kick Sauber, so where we will not be racing as Stake, we will use the second team name.”
