Mercedes has managed to sign Simone Resta and Enrico Sampo from Ferrari in a bid to improve in key areas for the upcoming years.
Resta will cover the role of Strategic Development Director, while Sampo will be the Head of Performance Software Applications. Both figures have years of experience in Formula 1 and their knowledge will surely be a great addition for Mercedes.
They won’t be able to join the Brackley-based outfit until 2025 and it is yet unknown exactly when they will start working for Mercedes.
Meanwhile, Ferrari might also sign some staff members from Mercedes in the future, as Lewis Hamilton will be joining the Scuderia in 2025. Some rumors suggested that the British driver could bring some other people with him, like Mercedes’ driver development director Jerome D’Ambrosio, but there is nothing confirmed yet.
