Sergio Perez received a three-place grid penalty after impeding Nico Hülkenberg in Q1. He drops to P6 behind Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, and Oscar Piastri.

After the first part of qualifying, the stewards put Perez under investigation for blocking Hülkenberg as he was on a flying lap.

After securing P3 on the grid, the stewards have decided that, after hearing the drivers and the team representatives, Perez should receive a three-place grid penalty.
