Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur said that if Ferrari can put everything together during a race weekend and put Red Bull under pressure, the chances of beating them increase.

The Scuderia scored a 1-2 finish in Melbourne, beating the Milton Keynes-based outfit for the first time since Singapore in 2023. Max Verstappen indeed retired, and Sergio Perez had some issues, but Ferrari genuinely had the pace to fight with Red Bull.

Vasseur admitted that Ferrari has been building positive momentum since the start of the season, and he added that putting Red Bull under pressure will be key to beating the British outfit.

“I think we are building up the confidence in the last month, but it was already the case in the last part of the season last year.

“And this weekend, I think it’s good evidence that when we are putting everything together, and I’m not sure that we’ll be able to do it every single weekend, but when we’re putting everything together, we can put them a little bit under pressure.

“And it’s when they are under pressure that they will make mistakes, that means that we have to continue in this direction.”
