Ferrari is set to depart from its traditional crimson red, white, and yellow livery in honor of the 70th anniversary of the company’s establishment in the United States.

In 1964, Ferrari made its entry into the American motorsport market, showcasing a distinctive blue and white livery during the final two races of the 1964 season. This departure from their customary colors reflects a historical connection within the team’s legacy, as evidenced by its association with renowned drivers such as Chris Amon and Niki Lauda during his inaugural season at Ferrari.

The new design will be a one-off, and will feature a lighter blue shade “Azzurro La Plata”, and a deeper blue shade “Azzurro Dino.” Both colors are linked to a significant meaning in Ferrari’s history. The light blue shade will represent the overalls worn by Alberto Ascari when he won Ferrari’s first world championship in the 1950s. The deeper shade of blue is a reference to the color worn on the overalls of Arturo Mezario and Clay Regazzoni before the current era of predominantly red overalls.

The special edition livery will be unveiled in Florida before the Grand Prix, but the team has not released an official launch time or date. Ferrari has confirmed that this livery will not appear in any of the other American races this season.

Notably, the last instance of Ferrari showcasing a special livery occurred in October 2023 at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, marking the conclusion of the American leg of the 2023 season.
