Ferrari revealed a one-off red and blue livery for the Miami GP. Let’s dive into why the Italian team decided to opt for a rather interesting scheme of colors.

The Scuderia is well-known all over the world, and it has tight bonds with the American racing world, too. In 1964, at the U.S. Grand Prix, something has marked the outfit’s history to this day. John Surtees became the first and only Ferrari driver to win the title with a Ferrari that was blue and white.

Therefore, the choice of painting a few parts of the car in blue was made to celebrate that memorable win. Not only that, though, in fact, Ferrari has recently announced a new title sponsor: HP.

The blue colors, more precisely Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino, also recall and highlight the brand’s symbol and identity, as well as the liveries used by the North American Racing Team’s cars during those years.

This one-off livery also celebrates the 70th anniversary of Ferrari’s presence and history in the northern part of the U.S.
