Max Verstappen said that, at the moment, he is happy with Red Bull, and he wants to continue with them as he trusts the project. However, “anything can happen in the future”.
There is already a lot going on in the drivers’ market this season. With Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari, an important seat remains empty at Mercedes.
Not only that, with Adrian Newey leaving Red Bull, many think that Verstappen might be thinking about a possible team swap in the future. However, at least at the moment, the Dutchman made it clear that he wants to stay with the Milton Keynes outfit.
“My future is within Red Bull at the moment.
“At the moment, I can say that I want to stay with the team because I believe in the project that we have with everyone involved.”
However, he also mentioned that things could change in the future.
“But at the end of the day, in sports but also in life, you don’t know what’s going to happen in the future.”
The Dutchman also underlined how his future decision for which team to drive will be based on the outfit’s performance, not how much he will earn.
“I know myself that if I will be driving for P5 or P6, you get quite grumpy with yourself.
“So, it’s always about performance at the end of the day. I mean, everyone knows that, Toto [Wolff] also knows that.”
