After competing in the lower single-seater categories, two Formula 3 drivers have been barred from competing in particular European summer rounds of the 2024 campaign.

The reason for Nikola Tsolov’s and Martinius Stenshorne’s suspensions comes after FIA was not informed about their racing thus not being able to give them a ‘green-light’ to compete.

Bulgarian Alpine’s young driver Nikola Tsolov was thus excluded from competing at the Belgian F3 round after ‘illegally’ racing in the EUROCUP-3 season opener at Spa.

ART representatives noted that they were unaware of this situation.

For this punishment, ART’s driver has received 4 penalty points.

More so, rigid penalties enforced by the FIA have come upon the newest McLaren member, Hitech’s Martinius Stenshorne.

Norwegian will thus be disabled to compete at the Silverstone round after participating in two rounds of the GB3 championship.

Hitech’s representatives were unaware of the situation too albeit being present at the racetrack for their team’s GB3 races.

Both Tsolov and Stenshorne have reiterated that they were uninformed of FIA rules regarding participation at the same track in two different categories in the same season and without notifying FIA about their intentions to participate.

Interestingly, Prema’s Arvid Lindblad was also present at the Silverstone round of the GB3 championship as a part of Fortec Motorsport.

However, the F3 rookie has explained: “that his management team organized the test session at Silverstone and there was a miscommunication.”

Prema and the driver were not excluded from the Silverstone round but they have been fined with 20000 euros.
