The Prime Minister of Thailand Srettha Tavisin was noticed strolling through the grid with Formula 1’s CEO Stefano Domenicali.

Formula 1 grows its interest among countries from the Asian continent and Thailand seems to be next in the line to hold an F1 race with a proposed Thai GP.

Thai PM visited Emilia Romagna region for a Sunday’s Grand Prix during his official visit to Italy and soon afterward shared a tweet regarding the future of F1 in this Southeast Asian country.

Although Thailand already has one ‘Grade-A’ circuit in Buriram that has hosted FIM’s class of Moto GP/2/3 since 2018, Domenicali is unsurprisingly more keen on adding another street race, this time set in Thailand’s capital of Bangkok.

This has already sparked bewildered comments from the community who still sees Sepang as a returning element to the Formula 1 calendar.

Recently F1’s CEO Stefano Domenicali has stressed how ‘F1 does not have an intention to expand the calendar at this moment even though the interest to host premier racing event is very desirable’.
