McLaren’s Lando Norris has been cleared by the FIA after being investigated for moving under braking.

Norris was investigated for possible erratic driving at the Sprint of the United States Grand Prix after blatting the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris during the closing stages of the race.

Then, on the final lap, the McLaren driver locked-up at Turn 1, allowing Sainz through and then aggressively defending his P3 position from Leclerc, who accused Norris of moving under braking at Turn 15.

The incident was noted by the FIA and investigated after the race, and the Stewards concluded that no offense was committed.

“There did not appear to be any significant changes of direction under braking, and the move at Turn 15 was a legitimate defending move by the driver of Car 4,” the FIA statement reads.

“In Turn 1, Car 4 locked up under braking and went wide, losing a position.”
