Charles Leclerc’s last weekend of the season didn’t start the right way, as he had issues with the battery in FP1 and had to change the energy store, leading to a 10-place grid penalty.
The Monégasque led the first free practice session ahead of Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton. However, right at the end of the session, the team confirmed that the battery on his car had to be changed.
That leads to a 10-place grid penalty on Sunday, something which Ferrari surely wanted to avoid, as this makes the fight against McLaren for the constructors’ championship even more complicated.
However, things change quickly in F1 and anything can still happen before the checkered flag falls for the last time in 2024 on Sunday.
