Oliver Bearman has finished the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in seventh place, scoring 6 points in the Formula 1 World Championship for 2024.
The Ferrari driver replaced appendicitis-hit Carlos Sainz for qualifying and the race, becoming the first British driver to race with the Maranello-based squad in 25 years (an honor that had been left for Hamilton from 2025 before this weekend).
Bearman started the race from P11 after missing out on Q3 last Friday, and endured the 40-lap race battling his way to P7.
His teammate, Charles Leclerc, achieved P3, claiming the last spot on the podium behind Sergio Perez and race winner Max Verstappen.
Sainz watched the race from the paddock as he made a quick recovery from Friday’s surgery. Action Sports Network understands the number 55 will return behind the wheel for the next Grand Prix in two weeks’ time.
Bearman was racing in F2 for the weekend and had even achieved Pole position for one of the races, but his reserve driver duty call meant he missed out on the rest of the feeder series action, and while his first F1 outing was a success, the Briton still has an F2 championship ahead of him.
The next GP will be in Australia at the end of March.
