Both Mercedes and RB F1 Team have revealed two one-off liveries that will be used for the Singapore GP.
The Silver Arrows opted for a green and black livery to celebrate their partnership with Petronas. Meanwhile, RB F1 Team will feature a rather particular livery that recalls a pair of jeans designed by another sponsor, Hugo.
Mercedes
Mercedes decided to do so in order to celebrate Petronas’ 50th anniversary. The partnership started back in 2010 and is still ongoing. Mercedes reached many victories and successes with Petronas, therefore, the team wants to highlight the importance of the sponsor in the present and for the future.
“Our partnership with Petronas is our longest standing and still going strong,” explained Toto Wolff, the team principal. “We share a common belief and commitment to innovation and performance. That has enabled us to achieve such incredible success in recent years and Petronas has been right at the heart of that.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship for many more years to come, and with exciting challenges ahead such as the introduction of sustainable fuels in 2026. This livery is therefore not only a celebration of their 50th anniversary but a reflection of Petronas’ importance in our team’s story and honors our journey together.”
RB F1 Team
Going back to RB F1 Team, not only will the livery be different, but also the team’s overhauls and the drivers’ suits. Hugo, the designer, is a brand that joined the team as a partner in 2024.
“Over the years we’ve seen fashion brands join forces with F1 teams and drivers, especially when it comes to outfits, but never have we seen any of them take this step in fully immersing themselves on track too,” Daniel Ricciardo said.
“We’re really raising the stakes here and paving the way, showcasing that there’s so much more that can be done for brands to explore. I think we’re definitely going to open the eyes of these fashion houses and see more fashion-inspired liveries come to life.”
