McLaren has managed to clinch its first Constructors’ title since 1998 with a Lando Norris’ victory in the last race of the season at Abu Dhabi.
The success of the 2024 season concluded with six wins in total (4 for Lando Norris and 2 for Oscar Piastri) and eight pole positions as the Woking-based team ended the season with 666 points.
2024 Formula 1 runner-up Lando Norris with a huge smile on his face gave a brief reflection on a successful 2024 F1 season for the team.
“It feels incredible not for myself, but before the whole team. The team have done an amazing job this year to come from where we were at the beginning. I’m so proud of of everyone. It’s been a lovely journey and to end the season like this is perfect.”
Norris also mentioned how it feels special to end a 26-year-long drought without a Constructors’ title for a historical team McLaren.
The British driver also admitted his flaws within a season in order to help a team receive a Drivers’ championship next season.
“This is my goal, this is our goal as a team, we want to win the Drivers’ [Championship] next year.”
I made my mistakes this year but I’ve learned a lot and I’ve learned a lot from Max and my competitors around me.” – Norris completed.
