Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton is set to miss several weeks following a Grade 1 left harmstring strain during Monday’s game against the Boston Celtics, league sources said.

Haliburton slipped, doing a split that caused him pain and forced him to abandon the game as he was carried off by teammate James Johnson and Buddy Hield to the locker room.

According to The Athletic, Haliburton is set to miss just “a few weeks” following the initial assessment on the sevirity of his injury. A Grade 2 or Grade 3 injury could have kept him out for much longer.

The Pacers are tied with several teams for fourth in the Eastern Conference, but Haliburton’s injury could seriously compromise their playoff run as it did a year ago when he went out at a similar point in the season.
