Formula 1 teams Mercedes and Alpine have revealed their F1 2024 car launch dates on social media.
On January 15th, Alpine announced that its 2024 challenger will be presented on February 7th. Meanwhile, Mercedes will unveil the W15 on Valentine’s Day (February 14th).
Last year, Mercedes abandoned its “zero sidepod” concept to follow a design more similar to the one adopted by Red Bull. That was made to allow Lewis Hamilton and George Russell to have more confidence and speed to fight for wins more consistently.
Despite the W14 failed to win a race in 2023, the team is keen to continue its development for the upcoming season, too. The aim will be to dethrone Red Bull.
Meanwhile, Alpine had a difficult year, with McLaren and Aston Martin being faster almost every weekend. The team only finished P6 in the constructors’ championship.
Alpine and Mercedes have joined Sauber, Williams, Aston Martin, and Ferrari in the list of teams that have already announced their launch dates.
